Saurashtra Vepar Udyog Mahamandal was started in 2001. The roots of Saurashtra Vepar Udyog Mahamandal can be found in a Saurashtra Sankalan Samiti”. This Samiti was an institute of visionary leaders to address various issues of Saurashtra and Kutch region. The Role of Samiti is limited to policy advocacy and to scale up activism and movement against unfair policies of the government. Changes in Value Added Tax implementation in 2003, Removal of Octroi, Impact fee, Scarcity of currency coins, Action against malpractice of government officials were among the main activities and achievements of the Samiti. The team of  leading industrialists are playing key roles in this activism.

The development starts from individual unit to national level; our aim is to create Glocal Platform for the smallest manufacturer of Saurashtra & Kutch region, which can lead to generate greater GDP for the nation.

The success of the Make in India concept also depends on the performance of MSMEs.
The development of textile industry, coconut farming, Auto Park, mining, IT – Electronics are major thrust areas where scopes for the developments are huge. Collective efforts can bring very good results for economical and social growth.

It is also observed that scopes for the bilateral trade development with the African continent, South Asian countries, European and American countries are good. We are strategically working on it so that we can create A Glocal Trade Exchange Platform in Saurashtra Kutch Region.

The role of industrial association, federation and Mahamandal is very vital in sustainable development of industries, trade, economy and Society at large. Being body of the trade and Industry organization of Saurashtra – Kutch (SVUM), Saurashtra Vepar Udyog Mahamandal is committed to create a business friendly environment for holistic sustainable development of Saurashtra – Kutch.

The Saurashtra Vepar Udyog Mahamandal (SVUM), Federation of Trade and Industry Saurashtra, has made its mark as an organisation dedicated to promoting the entrepreneurial spirit of the State of Gujarat through organising events that showcase the strengths and vibrancy of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Sector and other business enterprises based in the State.

The International Trade Shows and Exhibitions organised by the SVUM in Rajkot are unique in that they create opportunities for participating local and global entrepreneurs to network and share best practices as well as explore the possibilities for forging partnerships or joint ventures for investment in various sectors.

The factory visits organised by the SVUM on the side- lines of International Trade Shows and Exhibitions are also unique in that they provide the opportunity for foreign delegates, as potential buyers, to witness the production cycles of the products manufactured by local companies.

I wish to extend my heartiest congratulations to you on the successful hosting of the SUVM - 2023 Trade Show which was held in Rajkot, Gujarat last year. It is also gratifying to know that SVUM has achieved a milestone in its trade shows for the past nine years having participation from over 1,000 plus foreign delegates from 50 countries including a number of diplomats and Ministers.  

I am delighted to learn that SVUM is organizing another international trade show next yearand I wish to extend my very best wishes for the same. May this eventas in the past, bring success and provide an opportunity for meetings and interactions with government officials, business chambers and partner countries for the wider good of all.

Indigenous Technologies which have been developed by Gujarat are very suitable for developing nations of Africa and Southwest Asia. Partnership and Tie-up for technology transfer for their Small Industries with industries of Gujarat will play key role in holistic and decentralized development of their economy and society at large.

SVUM 2024 International Trade show will play an important role to connect the buyers and sellers of India with African and Asian Nations.
